SAKE TASTING

On 9 June was realised successfully an event of sampling Sake in the garden of Residence of Ambassador of Japan Mr.Takanori Kitamura. The event was organised by the Embassy of Japan and the Greek-Japanese Association. They came 50 invited, from that 28 representatives daily, periodical Press and the television that deals with the drink and the gastronomy. Also in the event there were welcomed representatives of known Japanese restaurants inside or except big Hotels of Athens, members of the Association-representatives of big companies of Japanese products as well as the members of Administrative Council of Association. After the short talk of the Ambassador that welcomed the invited, the President of the Associasion Dimos Bratsanos talked about the story of Sake, it's production and the mainer types of it.

Then the invited had the chance to try 14 types of the most famous Sake in Japan. At the means of sampling the Ambassador of Japan with the proportional ritual way for welcome "broke" the lid of barrel (TARU) and all tasted the TARUZAKE in the special wooden glasses from Japanese cedar (masu). The savory Japanese dishes that tasted all, were prepared by the personal Chef of the Ambassador. The Ambassador and Mrs.Kitamura had the occasion to converse with the invited in a particular cordial and Friendly atmosphere.

The shop of Japanese Foodstuff SOYA, which offered the various varieties of Sake, of whom representative was K.H.Yoshida, the organizers expressed their warm thanks.

During their departure all took as gift a wooden glass masu, Japanese green tea Matcha and Japanese sweets.
